WORSHIP SCHEDULES & VENUES
Meeting for Worship
We meet for worship every Sunday mornings in the Meetingroom of the Ann Arbor Friends Meetinghouse, 1420 Hill St., Ann Arbor, MI 48104. On the 1st, 2nd and 4th Sundays the meeting times are 9:00 a.m. (‘early’) and 11:00 a.m. (‘late’). The ‘early’ meeting usually has an attendance of fewer than 20 and tends to have little vocal ministry. The ‘late’ meeting (attended by as many as 80) often has more vocal ministry. Child care is provided for the ‘late’ meeting. Children attend First Day School during this time and join the adults during the last 20 minutes of the ‘late’ meeting for worship.
On 3rd Sundays the ‘early’ meeting is at 7:45 a.m. to accommodate the Meeting for Worship for Business that is held at 9:00 a.m. in its place. The ‘late’ meeting time is unchanged at 11:00 a.m. on 3rd Sundays and child care is provided for this meeting.
During months when there is a 5th Sunday, the ‘early’ and ‘late’ meetings are combined and held at 10:00 a.m. Child care is provided for this meeting as well.
We refer to the end of meeting for worship as ‘rise of meeting’. Refreshments and informal socializing takes place in the Fellowship Room after the rise of meeting on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th Sundays. On 4th Sundays, there is an informal Potluck after the rise of ‘late’ meeting, to which all are invited.
