GOD AS MOTHER
Saturday, May 30, 2020, 3:30 p.m. & Tuesday, June 2, 2020, 11:30 a.m. (via Zoom).
This week’s ‘Reading & Discussion’ is based on two texts – God is Our True Mother and She is Love – written by Fr. Richard Rohr, Franciscan priest of the New Mexico Province and founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC), Albuquerque, New Mexico.
“And I saw no difference between God and our substance, but, as it were, all God; and still my understanding accepted that our substance is in God, that is to say that God is God, and our substance is a creature in God. For the almighty truth of the Trinity is our Father, for he made us and keeps us in him. And the deep wisdom of the Trinity is our Mother, in whom we are enclosed. And the high goodness of the Trinity is our Lord, and in him we are enclosed and he in us.” – Julian (Juliana, Dame Julian, Mother Julian) of Norwich, (1343 – after 1416), [emphasis added, Richard Rohr]
